History

The station was known as KVEZ beginning on January 10, 1983. On September 1, 1993, the station changed its call sign to KNUC, and on March 1, 1998, to the current KGNT. On July 20, 2001 the station briefly switched calls to KBET. On August 16, 2001, it was reverted to the current KGNT.

In 2011, KGNT filed papers to relocate its frequency from 103.9 to 99.1 due to having to share the same signal as KUDE
