David James “DJ” has nearly 20 years in the Utah market he has gained the trust of the local sports community. Racing Fan

KFNZ's Racing Fan show is Utah’s only racing talk show. The show is broadcast 9 am to 11 am Saturday mornings. The morning show is hosted by Shane Beck, Russ Sala Jr. and Steve Schoenfeld who cover the local and national racing scene. Racing Fan hosts interview drivers from NASCAR, NHRA, AMA Supercross, World of Outlaws, Le Mans, and Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

Inside the Outdoors

Airing Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturdays 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Inside the Outdoors, is hosted by long-time Emmy-award winning broadcaster Steve Brown. Inside the Outdoors discusses challenges faced by the outdoor community such as wolf management, federal vs state control of public lands, multiple-use challenges, and public vs private access. Additionally, the show provides a heavy dose of “where to go” and “things to do” by providing expert direction from Brown and his guests. Once a week, hunting specialist Tony Abbott will join Steve.

History

The radio station began broadcasting originally as KDYL in 1922, making it Utah's second oldest radio station. It was originally an NBC affiliate and was still an NBC affiliate during and after World War 2. It along with sisters 98.7 FM and TV channel 4 in Salt Lake City were purchased by Columbia Pictures in the early 1950s and the call letters of all three the AM, FM, and TV became KCPX AM-FM-TV.
