[]Dr. John Townsend is a psychologist and author with broad experience in private practice, business and leadership consulting and coaching, and media. He is perhaps best known for his 2 million-selling Boundaries: When to Say Yes, When to Say No to Take Control of Your Life, cowritten with Dr. Henry Cloud. Dr. Townsend has written or co-written over twenty books, selling over 5 million copies. His most recent book is "Now What Do I Do?" (Zondervan, 2010). Dr. Townsend has appeared on national TV, radio and newspapers and co-hosts the nationally syndicated radio program New Life Live, airing on 180 stations with 3 million listeners.

Biography

Dr. Townsend co-founded Minirth-Meier ClinicWest and served as its Clinical Co-Director for ten years. The clinic operated treatment centers in thirty-five cities in the western United States.

Dr. Townsend co-leads Cloud-Townsend Resources and runs a private practice in Irvine, California. He is a corporate consultant, and operates his own Leadership Coaching Program, which he personally conducts in southern California, Dallas, TX and Indianapolis, IN. He and Dr. Cloud conduct the Ultimate Leadership Workshop and the One Week Intensive for counselors in southern California. He is a visiting professor at Dallas Theological Seminary and is Clinical Director of the American Association of Christian Counselors

. Dr. Townsend serves on the board of directors of Mustard Seed Ranch, a ranch setting for abused children, and has served on the boards of the India Gospel League and Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS).

Dr. Townsend's hobbies include travel and playing in a band which performs at lounges and venues in southern California.
