Controversy
In 2008, Meares decided not to attend the live finale of Australia's Next Top Model. Meares reportedly "freaked out at the last minute" and failed to turn up for her hosting duties on the night. However, she pulled out with enough time for Channel Nine's A Current Affair and Channel Seven's Today Tonight to prepare a story about her non-attendance, as well as for Charlotte Dawson to be fully prepared and rehearsed to host the evening.
