Jo entered the series in the Season 6 episode "Hello, Goodbye". She was initially portrayed as a very stubborn and sometimes even pig-headed young woman. She does, however, mature over the course of the series. She was good mates with Constable Jack Lawson

. She also got on well with Senior Constable Maggie Doyle in the brief time between when Jo came to Mount Thomas and Maggie was shot dead. She initially disliked the new sergeant who arrived after Maggie's death, Tess Gallagher

Jo was promoted to Senior Constable in Season 11 of the series.

P.J. Hasham

Jo's most obvious romance storyline in the series was with P.J Hasham, who she became engaged to but this ended when she broke up with him because she thought he would never get over the death of his former fiance Maggie Doyle (Lisa McCune). Jo was later killed in the station's bombing.

Other appearances

Jane Allsop also appeared on Blue Heelers in 1997 episode Fool For Love after losing her audition as Dash McKinley. However in this episode she was portrayed as Angie Anderson not as Jo Parrish and had no relation to when she appeared as Jo, She later auditioned for the role of Jo Parrish and obviously was selected.
