According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 19,807. District officials report that in the 2007-2008 school year the Jersey Shore Area School District provided basic educational services to 2,805 pupils through the employment of 213 teachers, 53 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 15 administrators.

The district operates six schools: Avis Elementary School, Jersey Shore Elementary School, Nippenose Elementary School, Salladasburg Elementary School, Jersey Shore Area Middle School, and Jersey Shore Area High School.
