Some cases on which Mr. Kroll has served as an attorney for the victims of negligence:
  • Rob Komosa was left a quadriplegic after a spinal injury during a 1999 high school football practice. He sued Township High School District 214 for negligence. The case was settled for $12.5 million.
  • The estate of James Burroughs, a Greenville, SC man who died of colon cancer, received a jury verdict of $7 million for a medical malpractice suit. The verdict was reduced by 50% for a net verdict of $3.5 million.
  • Kenneth R. Kukla was struck by a vehicle that crossed the center line, resulting in a fractured ankle, dislocated hip and a sustained limp accompanied by chronic pain. The case was settled for $6.85 million.
  • Debra Jean Cunningham, 49, was struck and killed by a semi tractor trailer. Her case was settled for $1.495 million, the largest wrongful death settlement involving a car and semi-trailer for a female in Vermilion County .
  • Eddie Martinez was on a blue line CTA train when it derailed in 2006. He emerged from the incident with a large gash in his right leg and emotional trauma. Martinez' was the first case to go to trial and received a jury verdict of $135,000.
