Jefferson Mappin has been a professional performer in Canada for more than thirty years.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Jefferson caught the acting bug in high school where he got involved in every variety show and stage play possible. His love for the craft went as far as miming all the parts in a community theatre production of My Fair Lady when he was a behind-the-scenes stagehand while still in high school. His professional training came during college with the Dome Theater program at Dawson College in Montreal.

Jefferson has also appeared in over 125 film and television productions including a supporting role in the 5-time Academy Award–winning Unforgiven directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. Of his experience with the legendary Eastwood, he likes to refer to Clint as being “the nicest director and star I ever worked with who shot me in the back!” Jefferson has also appeared in other such notable films as The Freshman starring Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick and American Christmas Carol with Henry Winkler, Death Wish V, Bride of Chuckie, and Billy Madison starring Adam Sandler.

He has also had recurring roles on such successful television series as SCTV, Top Cops, Traders and Learning the Ropes. In between juggling film and television roles, Jefferson has found the time to lend his stage talents to more than 30 productions including three seasons at the highly acclaimed Stratford Festival of Canada. More recently Jefferson has appeared at the Factory Theatre in Toronto, Theatre Orangeville and The Blyth Festival.

Deeply involved in advancing the role of artists and the arts in Canada, Jefferson was the National Vice President of the Alliance of Canadian Radio and Television Artists (ACTRA) and served as a National Councillor from 1997 to 2002 and was a director of the Headwaters Arts Festival and held various executive positions with the Festival including four years as President between 2003 and 2007 in the Hills of Headwaters region north west of Toronto from 2001 to 2008.

In his capacity as President of the Headwaters Arts Festival Jefferson also served as a Director of the Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association. This position includes working with community businesses and arts organizations to promote business opportunities for local artists through increased exposure and promotion.

Jefferson lives in Erin, Ontario with his wife of more than twenty-eight years, Sally, and a houseful of pets.
