Cameron was raised in the suburban Los Angeles areas of Sherman Oaks and Studio City. Cameron was an only child who gravitated to music as a youngster in the early 1970s. He befriended Jim Podolor, nephew of the record producer Richard Podolor

Personal life

Cameron is twice divorced, with one grown son living in Los Angeles. He is the cousin of singer Antonia Bennett. Cameron is also a vegetarian spokesperson.
