Talbot was well known for being a sound passer. He was also known for having a clean but rather physical style of play which ultimately helped the Habs win Stanley Cups. His career lasted a total 1,056 games with a total of five different organizations. He was most successful during his years on the Montreal Canadians where he played with several NHL legends such as Henri Richard
and Jean Béliveau
. Talbot wore the #17 during his 13 seasons with the Habs.
