Gilardi appeared as himself in the 1995 film A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story, a film based on his mother's autobiography. The role of Gilardi in childhood was portrayed by Blair Slater.

Gilardi is now the drummer for the Tulsa, OK rock band New Science and 80's rock tribute band Dead Metal Society.

Jason is now married to Lisa and resides in a town near Tulsa, Oklahoma.
