. This was the first time in ten years that Madison won. This was the kickoff of a seven-game winning streak in fall of 2007.After this season Madison's football team had still kept up great work and even managed to beat Stone Bridge in 2009.

The boys Warhawk lacrosse team defeated the Langley Saxons during their 2009 season on a last second behind the back goal. This was the first time that they have beaten Langley in many years and has not been done since.

Swimmer Sean Fletcher, who holds the national high school record for 100-yard butterfly with a time of 47.08, graduated from Madison in the spring of 2009 and is swimming for the University of Michigan

Their crew team is a club that is not sponsored by the school in any way due to the expenses of the sport and the lack of spectator appeal, but every year at least three of their boats will win states for its own category. In 2010, the Women's junior eight came in second in the nation. In 2011, all of the Varsity Boats made it to Nationals, and all of them made it to finals at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.

The James Madison Latin program is known for its high national rankings on the National Latin Exam under its current teacher, Albert Gunn.
