Jai Gurudev is the Name of God, the Supreme Being or the creator of all. It is propagated by a famous saint from Northern India His Holiness Shri Tulsidas ji Maharaj popularly known as Baba Jai Gurudev ji Maharaj who is regarded by his Hindu and Muslim devotees as a saint. It means "victory to Gurudev" "Jai" translates to "Victory" and "Gurudev" (Sanskrit: गुरुदेव), is a term denoting "teacher".
"Jai Gurudev" is the distinctive representation of 'Anami Purush' & is popular amongst the followers of this Saint. The most common usage of the word Jai Gurudev can be seen when the followers of Baba Jai Gurudev greet each other.
ji used ‘Wahe Guru’. His quest for a perfect Guru started at a very tender age of six when he renounced the world forever. He searched for a perfect spiritual master for years. Finally his search ended with his Guru Swami Ghurelalji Maharaj, who initiated him towards the achievement of highest order of divinity. Baba Jai Gurudev with his intense urge to seek the Divine, followed and practised the path as guided by his Master Guru. His urge was so intense that in no time he could find the Ultimate to his full satisfaction.
Param Sant Baba Jaigurudev ji Maharaj who is popularly known as Baba Jaigurudev ji Maharaj was born in a small village in Uttar Pradesh and is presently residing at his Ashram in Mathura of U.P. State in India. His father was a talented person as well as land lord. When he was a child he lost his parents. At the time of death his mother asked him to search out and realize God.
At the age of seven years baba Jaigurudev left his house. Remembering the words of his mother Baba ji visited temples, mosques and churches and did what their heads told him. Time passed and in young age Baba ji met a perfect spiritual master Pandit Ghurelal ji sharma of Brahman family in Chirauli village of Aligarh district. After being initiated by his guru (master) Baba ji started meditation in right earnest,. Taking one time meal he spent more than twelve hours a day in meditation.
Baba ji within a short period realized GOD. After getting perfection he started preaching from Varanasi in the year 1952. In the beginning there were five disciples but now the number in is billions. In his spiritual preachings baba ji says that this human body is a rented house. Once the leased period is over this body have to be vacated. Relatives, friends, land, property would be left here and the soul would be dealt with according to our good or bad actions.
At present JAIGURUDEV is the name of GOD. This is only name which would liberate the soul from the clutches of the negative power ( Kal & Maya). The soul resides in between our eyebrows of the body. Its power has spread from head to toe and makes it work.
The soul has an eye, an ear and a nostril but all these are closed at present due to past good or bad deeds. Through meditation and mercy of the Master these can be removed. After that the soul can see the divine light and also hear the spiritual sound and music. After coming in contact with the sound (WORD or Naam) the soul can see the various spiritual creations and reach its real home SATLOK. In the words of GURU NANAKDEO it is SACHKH. And which is the real home of all the souls which are imprisoned at present in the bodies of animals, birds and other creatures.
Baba Jaigurudeo ji is constructing a temple of white marble on the national highway in Mathura in the memory of his MASTER. The temple has been named as 'NAM YOG SADHANA MANDIR' meaning 'DIVINE SOUND CONTACT MEDITATION temple. For the temple there is no donation from anybody and no entrance fee. There is no demand and if any person wants to donate, the condition is that he/she should be vegetarian. The temple belongs to the entire human race irrespective of their caste and creed. This is true representation of the entire humanity.

This name shall soon spread not only throughout INDIA but it shall take over the entire world. Baba Jai Gurudev is the founder and head of the religious organisation namely "JAI GURUDEV DHARAM PRACHARAK SANSTHA". The Ashram of Baba Jai Gurudev is located on Delhi-Agra highway and is spread in several acres of land. The office of this organisation is located in the Ashram. The organisation is running a school where free education is provided to poor and needy children, free dispensary for medical treatment and various other charitable programmes besides construction of a huge temple.
Besides various spiritual functions which are held at the Ashram, one annual function "BHANDARA" is organised in the memory of his Master Guru Sant Ghurelalji Maharaj, which is attended by lakhs of devotees and piligrims.
Since 1952, Baba Jai Gurudev has been propagating "THE SANT MAT" which is the practical part of self realisation. The inner sound current "Shabd" is the essence of Sant Mat, which detatches one from worldly associations and pleasures and turns our attention within.
The spirituality is the knowledge of soul and God. For this it is essential to have a perfect living master who has attained the spiritual knowledge and can also impart the same to others.
The need is to come in contact with such a master, learn the technique from him, carry out spiritual practices with ceaseless persistance and unshakeable faith and thus return home, and merge into the ocean of which the soul is a drop. The soul is a spark of our Divine Lord.

According to the Baba ji “Jai Gurudev is not my name & its mere doubt that you consider it to be my name. Also its not name of Animal or Bird, Tree or River etc”. Miraculous Powers include but not limited to following:- Power to reduce the existing pains and miseries.
- Power to save a person from before time death also known as ‘Akaal Mrityu’.
- Power to reduce the distractions of Mind.
- Power to reduce the burden of Karmas which enables Soul to attain higher Spritual Levels.
- Power to save the Soul from ‘Web of Deception’ while practicing Sadhana. While practicing sadhna Maya tries to pose distractions in form of furious shapes that may create fear in the mind of the practitioner or lucrative and lusty images that may arouse desires within the practitioner's mind offering him momentary pleasures and as a result getting him down from track of reaching his home ‘Sat lok’ also known as attaining self actualization. Only by mere remembrance of the awakened name of time, all the hurdles created due to web of deception are cleared.
