, crafted by playwright Chong Tze Chien from stories that youth tell about being a teenager in Singapore. The composer is Bang Wenfu.

Eleven diverse teenagers between the ages of 15 to 19 years old have been selected as the cast. They have participated in acting, singing and dancing workshops led by accomplished local theatre practitioners and teachers in Singapore. The production opened November 2008 in Singapore.

Local pop icons Dave “Electrico” Tan and Corinne May will be writing a brand new song for the teen performer that best inspires them. The teen will get the opportunity to premier this song to the public on stage during “It’s My Life!”.

Production team

The show will be produced by A Spare Room Pte Ltd, Tan Kheng Hua and Valerie Lim. The director is slated to be Lim Yu-Beng. The playwright, Chong Tze Chien is an award-winning playwright and the director of the Finger Players theatre company. The composer, Bang Wenfu, arranged the music for “Forbidden City”. The choreographer is Ricky Sim. Six teens were also selected as the design team to work with head designer Tan Ju Meng.
