. The journal, printed biannually, has been published since 1992. It receives contributions from graduate students at the top schools for international affairs. IAR also includes book reviews, interviews, and Elliott School faculty spotlights.

Along with the printed journal, IAR also makes strong use of its website, providing weekly commentary on current debates in international affairs. The published articles and interviews are distributed every Monday morning through an e-newsletter.

Members of the journal's advisory board include the dean of the Elliott School, Michael E. Brown and the director of the school's international affairs masters degree program, Ambassador Karl Inderfurth
