Ingeborg Bronsart von Schellendorf was the daughter of Margareta Åkerman and Otto Starck. At the time of her birth, her parents were living in Russia, where here father was involved in trade. Ingeborg Starck studied piano with Nicolas von Martinoff and Adolf Henselt and composition with Constantin Decker. She completed her studies in Weimar
