Comprising less than 100 residents, the community is home to numerous seasonal residences, many owned by German and American citizens.

The community is also home to the popular "Lakeside Restaurant and Take-Out" which specializes in seafood with a lakeside view.

There are seven lakes that are not only in Indian Harbour, but span around Jordanville, Port Hilford and a bit of Stillwater as well. Some of the scenic lakes are located right on the road and others are hidden in the woods.

A beautiful sand beach on the ocean is located only a few kilometres away in Port Hilford
