For example, the main character, Georgianna, resembles Prudence Crandall
; March Street resembles Marsh Street; the large house built by Appleton Talcott resembles the Parsonage; the feed store, Comstock Ferre; Grimes Mill, Mill Woods; Follybrook Farm, a farm in north Wethersfield owned by the Buck family, and so forth.
