. Since 2002 he also holds Dutch citizenship. He is currently a technical director of Zenit Saint Petersburg
.
On the club level, Korneev has played for PFC CSKA Moscow (1987–91), RCD Espanyol
(1991–94), FC Barcelona
(1994–95), SC Heerenveen (1995–97), Feyenoord Rotterdam
(1997–2002), NAC Breda
(2002–2003). Korneev was named Russian Footballer of the Year
in 1991. He retired after the 2002 season with NAC Breda
