Ibertioga é um pequeno município do interior de Minas Gerais localizado a 40 km de Barbacena e a cerca de 200 km da Capital, Belo Horizonte.
Era uma próspera cidade nos idos dos anos 60 e 70. A produção de leite era alta e a pecuária era fortíssima, sendo referência de qualidade em gado Holandês. Começou seu declínio a partir da década de 80, quando a corrupção na política municipal fez com que a cidade "parasse no tempo".
