In 1994, he was made Harold Ford Professor of Commercial Law, Faculty of Law, The University of Melbourne. Since 1997, he has also been the Director, The Centre for Corporate Law and Securities Regulation at that University. He was Dean of the Faculty of Law from 2002 to 2003.
