Stretching west to Lake Mälaren

, it is largely a middle class area, consisting of numerous streets, the central commercial area Åkermyntan, and the big refuse dump Lövsta, which was used to burn all of Stockholm's rubbish from the late 19th's to about 1950.

In Hässelby Villastad there are many schools, Hässelby Villastadsskolan is one of them. It is one of the biggest schools in Stockholm with almost 1000 students. Other schools in the area are Trollboda and Smedshagen. Smedshagen had brand new facilities built recently, which makes it one of the most modern schools in Europe.

Other famous places in Hässelby Villastad is Riddervik, a park and a mansion with two wings. Today used for conferences and a restaurant, it was originally built for a businessman in the 18th century, who used it as a leisure park.

Beside the mansion is a wooden jetty attached to the rock stretching along the water from Riddersvik to Fargersstrand. Allmänabadet is the "official" beach in Villastan, with a newly built wooden surface meant for sunbathing etcetera. There are two jetties which from you can jump into the water, and on the other side of the beach there is the children's beach.
