 products in Australia and New Zealand. Hybrid TV is owned by New Zealand broadcaster TVNZ (33%) and Australian Seven Media Group (67%).

The TiVo media device was launched in Australia in late July 2008. For twelve months running the device has been the number one selling HD-DVR in the category (GfK data). When the device was first launched its capabilities were primarily DVR functionality. Today the TiVo media device has free games (eg Sudoku) and services (eg horoscopes, weather, world clock) as well as new release movies on-demand delivered via the broadband connection. On-demand movies were launched in April 2009.

In the month of June, the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was released simultaneously to video stores on TiVo in Australia. In May 2009, Hybrid TV launched Radio Podcasts on TiVo for the Australian market. This service was established from a partnership with Nova and Vega Radio. The TiVo media device is sold at select stores in Australia including: Harvey Norman; Domayne; Joyce Mayne; JB Hi-Fi; Clive Anthonys; Dick Smith Electronics; Myer; David Jones and The Good Guys. Australian consumers can also purchase a TiVo online at http://www.mytivo.com.au

In March 2009 the company began announcing partnerships with various internet service providers in an effort to provide unmetered downloads to customers. As the electronic program guide (EPG), software updates and broadband content and services rely on the broadband connection in the home - it was vital Hybrid TV created partnerships with ISPs. The first unmetered partner was Internode (http://www.internode.on.net), following Internode was iPrimus and Adam Internet.

Hybrid TV announced they would be launching in New Zealand in November 2009. Hybrid TV has established a local ISP partner in Telecom NZ for New Zealand. To date over 15,000 New Zealanders have registered their interest in the TiVo media device at http://www.mytivo.co.nz.
