clubs participate. It nominally feeds the Central Midlands League under the larger umbrella of the Northern Counties East League. However, not many clubs have taken the step up, largely because the bulk of the CML's clubs are based around Nottingham and Derby. Due to its status as a fairly new league and the general lack of hierarchical football structure in the Yorkshire area, the Humber Premier League has not established a history of promoting to a certain higher league, so its exact status within the pyramid is still to be determined. However, two clubs did make the step up at the start of the 2008/09 season - Hutton Cranswick United and Westella & Willerby.
