Hugh Meremether was also the inventor of Ampair wind generator used predominantly by cruising sailors. The wind generators allows long range cruisers to generate electricity charging the battery banks from the free power of the trade winds.

Ampair products have benefitted greatly from Hugh's direct involvement through until the late 80s and design decisions made by him have been influential until about 2005. The Ampair 600 represents the last product with visible influence of Hugh's design choices. See www.ampair.com.
