award since 2002. Their uniform consists of grey trousers, black shoes, white polo shirts and maroon jumpers. However, the Year 6 students are permitted to wear a maroon hooded top. Although the community has called for these "hoodies" to be removed from the school uniform since 2001, there has been no change of uniform at the school for 11 years. The School has nearly 500 students. In the break of 2000 the lunchroom and dining area was destroyed in a fire, costing £1 million to refurbish.
