. The station entered operation on 1 July 2010, nearly four months after the opening of the line's Hongqiao extension. It is located near Hongqiao International Airport and a railway station of the same name. The Line 10 section of the station will commence operation at a later date.

From the 2010—2020 metro construction plan, 3 new metro lines are planned to start from this station; they are Line 17 via Baoshan Industry Park to Gongqing Forest Park
