The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps is a nonprofit organization that unites the world's largest family of camps for children with serious and life-threatening medical conditions. Hole in the Wall Camps are free of charge to all campers and their families regardless of their ability to pay and are dependent upon the generous support of thousands of donors around the world.  with the aim that no child should have to compromise their childhood because of a serious illness. The association has the most medical specialty camps in the world, and has served more than 200,000 children and families worldwide. There are 14 member camps in seven countries, four new camps in various stages of development, and eight Global Partnership Initiative programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Through intentional programming and therapeutic recreation, the Hole in the Wall Camp experience is designed to foster self-confidence and independence, and enhance coping and resilience. The intended outcome is to empower children to reach beyond the limits of their illnesses and to create lasting and positive behavioral impacts on their lives.
