However, it was not generally known that the Holden platform had been given the GM W code until around August 1974 when Wheels magazine and others showed prototypes of a proposed redesigning of the external design of the then current product and referred to it as the WA series. This was later confirmed by John Wright in "Heart of the Lion" who also noted that ultimately the WA series was dropped and a substitute design was produced as the Holden WB
