HTC/UHW aims to establish a structured and stable underwater hockey organization in Wales, to support individual, club and regional development. HTC/UHW is responsible for the training and management of Wales national squads. Its objective is to create and maintain competitive Welsh underwater hockey squads in all categories, to compete in regional competitions and the BOA home international tournaments.

 along the bottom of a swimming pool. The obect of the game is to score more goals that the opposing team by pushing the puck into the opposing team's goal. Games consist of two halves of ten or fifteen minutes, with a short half time interval. The teams change ends during the interval.
