Timeline issues

As with the films and series, this mini-series causes some timeline inconsistencies with the Highlander films; namely with flashbacks depicting Connor with the sword in his possession during the time period in the comic book that he has lost it, as well as some of the official novels. Additionally, Sunda Kastagir appears with Connor MacLeod

 in the 1966 "present day" portions of the story-arc, when the first Highlander movie clearly indicated that in 1985 they had not seen each other in over a century.

However, some of those inconsistencies are explained away, as JT Krul has expressed that his arc is a prequel

 to the first film, depicting the Highlander's journey just before the Gathering took place. Given how the official comic book run was set in the continuity of the TV series and Endgame

, this could explain why MacLeod loses his sword in this comic but still carries during the flashbacks of the 9 issues of the Dynamite
