. It was established in the late 1980s, when the Lincolnshire County Council removed funding from the Trust for Lincolnshire Archaeology and instead established a new organisation.

Functions

  • Archaeology forms an integral part of Heritage Lincolnshire's services. The work for both commercial and non-commercial clients is carried out by the archaeological division, Archaeological Project Services (APS), providing expert professional services throughout Lincolnshire, across Eastern England and beyond.
  • Publishing helps Heritage Lincolnshire promote the county's rich and varied history, heritage and archaeology to a wide audience. The staff have the knowledge and experience to research, design and present information in a range of media.
  • Heritage Lincolnshire celebrates and promotes Lincolnshire's rich and diverse heritage through its range of events and activities, publications, days schools, courses, exhibitions, talks and its website.
  • Heritage Lincolnshire brings grants and funding into Lincolnshire for heritage projects to help conserve the county's historic buildings and archaeological sites.
  • Heritage Lincolnshire encourages community involvement and volunteering, giving people the chance to learn about their surroundings and help protect their heritage.
