Dr. Herbert L. Becker (Born August 12, 19-- in Hollywood, FL) is the inventor and patent/copyright holder for BOIP (broadcasting over internet protocol) and the founder of IPTV (internet protocol television broadcasting). He is the author of many books, an actor, a magician, and the creator of the Masked Magician TV specials for FOX TV.
Becker had long runs in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Voted Best USA Magician in 1975 and 1976.

Dr. Herbert L. Becker (Born August 12, 19-- in Hollywood, FL) is the inventor and patent/copyright holder for BOIP (broadcasting over internet protocol) and the founder of IPTV (internet protocol television broadcasting). He is the author of many books, an actor, a magician, and the creator of the Masked Magician TV specials for FOX TV.
- He performed under the name "The Kardeen Brothers" with Marc Nicols. Later, he worked solo as "The Great Kardeen".
- He helped open the first Guinness Museums, toured with Guinness on Parade and performed at the Steel Pier and Radio City Music Hall with the Guinness show.
- Becker toured, world-wide, until he retired in 1978. He was the opening act for such bands as Elton John and Genesis. Later bands which opened for him included Hall and Oates.
Becker had long runs in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Becker appeared as himself (a magician) on the television programs "Bozo the Clown" (1975-1977 appearing weekly) and "The Maury Povich Show" (2001).
As an author, he was once unsuccessfully sued by David Copperfield in order to stop his book from being published, revealing how magicians do their tricks. Becker won the law suit. The book, All The Secrets of Magic Revealed (1995), went on to become the bestselling magic book in history, selling more than 250,000 copies. Becker has gone on to have 12 books published including such subjects as John Lennon and How to Type.
Becker and Copperfield are now close friends.
As a magician, Becker made the Statue of Liberty vanish before a live audience for SternTV in 1996. He replaced Harry Houdini in the 1976 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.
Performed at Radio City Music Hall in 1976.

Herbert spent many successful years as a senior executive in the retail industry.
Becker is married and is the father of seven children.
