Life

Little is known about the former Oberaufseherin Helga Hegel. What is known is that she took the place of former chief wardress Martha Dell'Antonia in late 1944 or early 1945. When the small camp was evacuated, Helga rode on a bike alongside commandant Alois Doerr. The two were also reportedly lovers. After the guards fled the march, Helga was captured by United States
