Plot

The Blessed Edith Semple is in line to become the next Scottish saint, providing that she can be held responsible for two other miracles. In the Glasgow Catholic state school which bears her name, cynical schoolteacher Vic Matthews (Conti) is accomplishing his own brand of miracles as a teacher of remedial schoolchildren while pursuing fellow colleague Ruth (Mirren). Then inexplicable things start happening in Vic’s life …
