Neil Hamilton Wilkinson (stage name Hamilton) is the bassist and second vocalist in British Sea Power
.
Earlier in the band's career, he was the secondary songwriter, his brother Yan writing the majority of the tracks for their first two albums. Around 35% of the band's earlier recorded output was written and/or sung by Hamilton, including a number of cover versions on which he has taken lead vocals.
He took more prominence as a songwriter on their third album Do You Like Rock Music?
, writing half of the songs, whereas Yan only wrote three of the tracks.
On the majority of his own songs he plays guitar
