There are two proposed routes: Nebraska Ave.(north-south) to Fletcher Ave. (east-west), and Hillsborough Ave

. to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (east-west). See map. As of May 12, 2009, the N/S route is tentatively scheduled to start construction in mid 2010 and open for revenue service in late 2011. The current working name of the BRT service is "MetroRapid". The N/S line has not been given a number or color designation, but "MetroRapid Green Line" and "MetroRapid Blue Line" are the proposed designations.

MetroRapid has three sizes of stations proposed, A, B, and C. All stations feature covered shelters, dynamic (constantly updated) next arriving bus signage, route map, benches, and enhanced branding. Size C stations feature ticket vending machines (TVMs), bicycle racks

Most stations along Fletcher Ave. will feature bus turnouts. The current proposed bus's to be used are the Gillig Low Floor
