Grate (band)

Grate is a Serbian modern alternative rock band formed in the end of 2006. in Novi Sad. Current band members are Goran Beg, Dragan Alimpijević (Pik), Robert Moldvaji and Vladislav Kokotović.

2006–2010

Grate was formed by Damir Marković and Dragan Alimpijević-Pik, that were previously in a band “Red Cloud”, in the end of 2006. Original band members were: Damir Marković (vocals), Dragan Alimpijević-Pik(guitar), Andraš Išpan-Bandi (bass guitar) and Robert Moldvaji (drums). In summer of 2008. band begins with recording their debut album „Prodaj nas“ (eng. “Sell Us”) in studio ROAD, and album producer is Pik. In the end of 2008. Damir Marković has left the band, and on his place came Milan Petrović, with who is later recorded the album. In January 2009. band has published their first single “Be There”, and in May the same year was released the album. The album was released on the Studentski kulturni centar Novi Sad label. Month after releasing the album Andraš Išpan leaves the band, and replaces him Nenad Patković with who they later recorded live session in studio ROAD. Official promotion of the album was the 15th October 2009. in the club “Trema” (Serbian National Theatre) in Novi Sad. Premiere video for new single “Beli šengen” (eng "White Schengen”) was held on 16. October 2010. on "Gruvanje".

2011–present

After a while the band is back with a new crew and began recording their second album. Now on Milan Petrović’s place comes Goran Beg (guitarist from Plug'n'play

), which is his first time as a singer in a band, and Vladislav Kokotović (bassist from Goblini

) replaces Nenad Patković. The video for the song “Lepljiv Mrak” (eng "Sticky darkness"), which will be on the upcoming album, was recorded 7 June 2011. live in the studio ROAD and premiered at the 10th July 2011. on "Gruvanje".
