's doppler weather radar station "XGO". It was once home to the East Hants Courthouse that stood on the community's "Courthouse Hill" for 90 years until it burnt down in 1956. The courthouse was never rebuilt but today there is a memorial that marks the place where the courthouse once stood.

Gore is home to a famous annual mountain bike race named A-Gore-Aphobia taking place every July. A-Gore-Aphobia is a point series race put on by Bicycle Nova Scotia
