Gong Cave

Gong Cave has stalactite and stalagmites that are considered to be among the most beautiful in South-east Asia. The cave is about 256m deep, and has 5 pools; Rogo Pool, Panguripan Pool, Jiwo Pool, Kamulyan Pool, and Ralung Nisto Pool. They are thought to have magical properties to heal diseases. The beauty of the stalagmites and stalactite have been immortalized by Selo Cengger Bumi, who named them, Cello Giri, Selo Citro Cipto Agung, Cello Pakuan Bomo, Cello Adi Citro Buwono, Cello Bantaran Angin and Cello Susuh Angin. On certain days, there is the sound of traditional music called "Jaranan" gong (traditional gong). Even up to the present, sometimes its sound still can be heard, and that is why this cave has 12 rooms, 7 springs and one natural bath. This cave is located about 30 km west of Pacitan
