gnome-screenshot is a utility used in the GNOME Desktop Environment for taking screenshots. It is a part of the GNOME Utilities package.
It provides several options, including capturing the whole desktop or just a single window, a time delay function, and some image effects.
There's also GScrot, a GNOME application that not only takes screenshots, but provides different options to select the area of the screenshot, the window to be captured, etc.
