and soft-rotting of plant tissue. Exo-poly-alpha-D-galacturonosidase (exoPG) hydrolyzes peptic acid from the non-reducing end, releasing digalacturonate. PG and exoPG share a few regions of sequence similarity, and belong to family 28 of the glycosyl hydrolases.
