For the past 15 years, Global village has been providing cultural entertainment along with a worldly shopping experience to millions of visitors. There are many more attractions, including thrilling rides and firework displays, to complete your visit.

Located in Dubailand on Emirates Road, the venue is easily accessible to all from around the country. Special facilities include but aren’t limited to shuttle services to and from Global village and the parking area, restaurants, prayer rooms and ATM’s. The guest’s comfort and experience is Global Village’s top priority.

Pavilions

Global Village has over 25 pavilions each representing their country! Many interesting pavilions such as the Sri-Lankan Pavilion, UAE Pavilion, Thailand Pavilion, etc. Visit the Sri-Lankan Pavilion to taste or buy the best ceylon tea, visit the UAE Pavilion to learn more about the UAE's culture, visit the Thailand Pavilion to get a preview of Thailand.

History

Global Village started out in the form of a number of kiosks in 1996 located on the Creek Side opposite to Dubai Municipality. It then later shifted to the Oud Metha Area near Wafi City where it welcomed visitors for 5 years.Today, Global Village welcomes 6 million visitors at its current location in DubaiLand.

Facts and Figures

There has been a steady rise in the number of visitors to Global Village over the past 15 years. These guests come from all over the world to join in the festivities and fun of different countries that have set up pavilions. The number of both, the visitors and pavilions is on the rise even today. It is testament to the immense success Global Village has achieved and plans to continue achieving for many more years to come.

2000 The number of visitors and pavilions saw increases to 1.59 million and 22, respectively.
1999 1.45 million visitors with a stable pavilion number of 20.
1998 1.2 million visitors and 20 pavilions from countries around the world.
1997 In it’s second year, Global village had 900,000 visitors. The number of participating countries reached 18.
1996 Global village was initially a small site along the Dubai Creek with small kiosks representing different countries. In it’s first year, Global village had more than 500,000 visitors.
