, but the school catchment area covers the Gilmorton Ward of the City of Leicester.

Until Autumn 2001 the school used to be on two sites with the Junior Department on Cork Lane and the Infant and 4+ Unit on Featherby Drive. A million pound Junior Department was completed on the Featherby Drive Site. For the first time Glen Hills School is all on one site and in modern purpose built buildings.

For their final junior year (year 6), the children normally transfer onto South Wigston High School. For year 9 parents may send their children to Countesthorpe College, Guthlaxton College or another secondary school of their choice.
