gymnast.
Giovanna was born in Rio de Janeiro
and began trampolining at age 9, competing for Nucleo Tatiana Figueiredo. Her coach is Tatiana Figueiredo, a former Olympic Gymnast (having competed for Brazil in the 1984 Summer Olympics
). She won a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan-American Games held in her hometown, in the individual event (coming after Canadian favorites Karen Cockburn
and Rosannagh MacLennan
). She won a bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships in Kawasaki
