He was born in 1921, and died in 1982. Turner lived in Westport, Connecticut

. He was also a photographer whose pictures were chosen to hang in the White House. His specialty was portraiture. He was hired by the Irish Tourist Board and Aer Lingus to do a photographic tour of Ireland.

His children are Steven, Jill and Chris. Steven is an aerial photographer and Jill is a fine art photographer. His widow Julie lives in Wilton CT.
