The Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama (DSTY) is currently the only German School in Japan offering classes up to German high school graduation (grades K to 12, German "Abitur"). At the end of grade 9 the German “Hauptschulabschluss” is reached, at the end of grade 10 qualifying students acquire the “Mittlere Reife” and finally at the end of grade 12 (from 2010/11) the German Baccalaureate ("Abitur") is conferred.
The curriculum is based on the German education system ("Bundesland Thüringen"). German-speaking students can transfer between German schools in Germany or abroad and DSTY. The school is accredited by the German Government. Graduates qualify for application to universities in Germany and Japan as well as in most countries all over the world.
