. The Gentry Complex is situated on the main campus of Tennessee State University, a land-grant institution under the auspices of the Tennessee Board of Regents. This facility was built in 1980 and named for Howard C. Gentry, Sr., who, during a 27 year span, served as a prominent professor, coach and athletic director at TSU. The facility houses the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and has a basketball arena, dance studio, indoor track, indoor Olympic pool, (4) racquetball courts, and a training and weight room. It has a seating capacity of 10,500.
