 and Randall Shawver. Jon Schaffer was then introduced to John Greely through their mutual friend Tom Morris and after one short practice he was hired to replace Gene. Gene left due to the fact Jon Schaffer would not use Gene's lyrics. Gene was also the singer of Unearthed for a short time together with former Iced Earth bassist Dave Abell and former guitarist Randall Shawver. He now has a family and lives in Florida.
