This riding was created in 1987 from Gatineau
riding as "Chapleau", and renamed in 1988.
The electoral district was abolished in 1996 when it was merged into Gatineau
riding.
Gatineau—La Lièvre consisted of the towns of Buckingham, Gatineau, Masson and Thurso, the Municipality of Notre-Dame-du-Laus in the County of Labelle, and parts of the County of Papineau.
